Amy Smart, an American model, actress and actor. Born and brought up in California, USA, she began her modeling career in Italy. She made her acting debut in 1996, when she appeared in the TV film "Her Costly Affair". She struggled to get an appearance as a character in Starship Troopers, despite having appeared in numerous films. It was an extremely difficult time in her transition between modeling and acting, as models were never thought of as actors, and they were usually given smaller and inconsequential parts. Yet somehow, Amy decided to stay the course and began to take on bigger roles in the end, beginning with the series 'The 70's as well as the movie 'Varsity Blues'. Amy then stepped into principal roles on the romantic comedy film 'Just Friends in which she was also joined by Ryan Reynolds. It was a huge film at the box office and Amy discovered the recognition that she was striving for for over 10 years. Amy was later involved in various big-budget films, such as"Crank," the "Crank" series starring Jason Statham, and the series 'Shameless', in which she was a popular and a frequent persona.
