The four siblings of Taylor-Joy are from her father's previous marriage. Her family lived in Buenos Aires from the time she was 6 until they moved to Victoria, London. Taylor-Joy claims the move in London was stressful and she was unable to learn English in order to prevent returning to Argentina. Later, she enrolled in Queen's Gate School to study ballet as well as perform in the productions that the school staged. When she was 16, she left college to focus entirely on acting.
